Texting
With LETS© 2.0 comes the ability to capture and redirect text messages. The USA's cell network infrastrcuture does not allow the forwarding of text messages but the developers at Orion Systems have designed a technology that accomplishes this. Text messaging works the same way current call recording does with LETS© meaning that you still need phone which diverts the call and/or text message into the LETS© system. Previously, this means that a phone would have to be paid for which is not used. LETS© 2.0 offers a solution to this through the use of Google Voice phone numbers which are available from Google for free. Now an undercover or informant's phone can make/receive recorded calls and send/receive text messages which are all captured as evidence in the LETS© system. Agents can also monitor their informants via realtime updates of text messages. Copies of all text messages sent and received from the informant's phone can arrive your phone or any phone of your choosing. Body wire
LETS© technology allows the same phone that is used to record calls to also be used as a body wire. This works through the use of dedicated LETS© phone numbers for each feature. Making an outgoing (pretext) call reamins exactly the same but now to use the same phone as a wire, you dial the LETS Wire Number instead of the outbound LETS number. Enable speakerphone and now wire is live. Cover teams can listen in by dialing their own dedicated Cover Team Number. If your Wire Phone has an auto-answer capability, Cover Teams can turn on the wire remotely by simply calling the Cover Team Number. This is useful in the event that the Wire Phone loses cell coverage and the call drops or if the phone is not on a person. Easier to Use
LETS© 2.0 also offers certain features that make LETS© easier to use. These are completely optional to current customers so it is not at all necessary to make any changes. LETS© now allows you to get rid of passcodes by registering your phone on the LETS© website. This means you no longer have to enter 3# when making a call or opening a wire from the registered phone. LETS© is also introducing dedicated Wire and Cover Team Numbers. This means that opening a wire is as simple as dialling (925) 555-6381 and listening in as a cover team is as simple as dialing (925) 555-7381. Enhanced Security
All recordings made with the LETS© system can be encrypted with a password to ensure that only the person with the password has access to the evidence. All reocrdings also have MD5 file signatures which is a simple way to prove the evidence has never been modified. Logging into the LETS© website is now more secure with the option of one-time passwords. One-time passwords work by sending a text message to your cell phone containing a password that is valid for 5 minutes. Enter that characters in the text message as well as your regular password to log into your LETS© account. |
